The CD manufactory, whose diamond-shaped mark "Véritable Porcelaines" (Genuine Porcelains) adorns the reverse of each piece, produced highly elegant dinnerware sets in the 1950s-1960s, where the immaculate whiteness of the porcelain served as a setting for exquisitely fine narrative decorations. This particular set features 18th-century inspired equestrian scenes. Horse-drawn carriages, riders in period attire, and figures in historical costumes move through park landscapes with lush trees, each scene differing from one piece to another. The border, finely crafted as a gilded frieze with lace and scroll motifs, runs along the shaped rim with a precision that attests to the care taken in the decoration. A gold line highlights the scalloped border. The set consists of a large salad bowl 25 cm in diameter and eight matching small bowls 13 cm. Gilding largely intact, porcelain without chips or cracks.
