DESCRIPTION:
The Soft Pad Chair office chair, part of the Soft Pad Group chair family by Charles and Ray Eames, was designed in 1969. Its construction and form are similar to the Alu Chair. The sewn-on upholstery creates an interesting contrast to the slim aluminum frame. This makes the Soft Pad Chair softer and more luxurious without sacrificing transparency and clarity.
Thanks to their sophisticated appearance, they are particularly well-suited for management areas. Their tilt mechanism can be adjusted to the user's weight and, in combination with the soft upholstery, offers exceptional comfort.
The EA 219 swivel office chair features a five-star base with chrome casters. The seat height is infinitely adjustable via a gas spring. The adjustable reclining mechanism can be locked in the forwardmost position. The polyurethane foam upholstery with four sewn-on cushion units is covered in leather. The side profiles, tension bar, armrests, and five-star base are made of chrome-plated aluminum.

Premium cowhide, naturally grown, unique in its pattern of pores, grain, and surface texture, drum-dyed with aniline dye, lightly pigmented (semi-aniline), durable and
easy to care for (today the equivalent is called Premium Leather F). Please do not compare this to inexpensive standard leather, which has an artificial (embossed) grain!
COLOR:
Black, chrome
Note: The photos are sometimes overexposed to show the pristine condition in detail. This generally makes colors appear lighter and blacks appear grayer. The shadowed areas, or those not directly illuminated by the camera light, best represent the colors in real life. Any gloss or milky areas in the photos are also due to the lighting and/or exposure (reflections). The surfaces have a satin to semi-gloss finish.

CONDITION:
Like new! The Soft Pad Chair is in technically and visually flawless, excellent, and like-new condition. It is very well cared for and shows only very, very minor signs of use.
The leather upholstery has no stains, scratches, tears, or holes and is completely odorless. The high-gloss chrome armrests are like new and have none of the often-used nicks and scratches. The aluminum side profiles also look like new. Roughly speaking, the only difference compared to a new Soft Pad Chair is very slight scuff marks on the legs from resting the feet or slight creases. These are simply inherent characteristics of the design and appear after only a short time.
The Soft Pad Chair comes from my personal collection and was stored for approximately 20 years. It was set aside for a second home, which, however, never materialized.
