Striking large midcentury West German pottery jug vase produced by Wächtersbach Keramik, designed by Ursula Fesca in the 1950s. This iconic Urania model (10249) features a bold sculptural form with a generous handle and a strong architectural presence.
The vase is finished in a vivid matte red glaze on the exterior, contrasted by a deep black glazed interior, a hallmark of Ursula Fesca’s modernist design language. Its balanced proportions and expressive color make it a standout example of West German Pottery (WGP) and postwar ceramic innovation.
