Vintage Porcelain
For sale is a beautiful, exceptionally comprehensive coffee service from the traditional Bavarian brand Schumann Arzberg Bavaria.
The popular "Red Rose" series (shape 870) enchants with its vibrant purple-pink rose decoration, elegant gold rim, and three-dimensional openwork/woven relief on the edge.
A dream set for a festive coffee table or for lovers of sophisticated vintage and shabby chic style.
The original retail price for such a Schumann Arzberg service ("Red Rose" series, shape 870) was approximately 400 to 600 Deutsche Marks (approximately 200 to 300 euros) during the manufacturer's heyday in the 1970s and 1980s. At that time, porcelain was considered a true status symbol and a valuable purchase for life. Since this is fine German quality hard-paste porcelain, the price at the time was calculated as follows: Why it was so expensive back then.
Elaborate relief structure: The woven or waffle-patterned rim of the plate (the so-called "Form 870") required precise molds for its production.
Real gold rim: The delicate rim was hand-painted with genuine lustrous gold or fired on using a stencil, which significantly increased the price per plate.
Individual purchase prices: Back then, such a set was often purchased piece by piece over several years. A single place setting (cake plate, saucer, cup) already cost a considerable sum in a specialty store.
