Large decorative tray or trinket dish in capiz shell mother-of-pearl, encircled with gilt brass, in an elegant scallop shell shape. Beautiful mosaic work in fine mother-of-pearl, arranged in translucent, two-tone pearly and gilt scales. Vintage, made in Southeast Asia in the second half of the 20th century, 1970s-1990s, probably originating from the Philippines. 32.5 cm long, 23 cm wide, and 2.2 cm high. Very good overall condition, nothing particularly noteworthy. Approximately 100g.
