A beautiful, hand-painted XXL painting by De Kunstfabriek Amsterdam.
It is an expressive and colorful still life of watermelons, inspired by the famous modernist works of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.
This is a 100% original piece from the De Kunstfabriek studio, recognizable by the famous, original factory logo (signature) in the bottom right corner.
The canvas is entirely hand-painted with thick, tactile layers of paint and is in good condition.
The painting features a high-quality finish and is fitted with a sleek, wooden floating frame. An absolute eye-catcher for above a large sofa, dining table, or in a modern office!

Although the concept started on a small scale in the late 90s/early 2000s, De Kunstfabriek opened its doors in early 2005 in the then newly renovated Zuiveringsgebouw on the Westergasterrein in Amsterdam. The opening exhibition organized at the time included a number of recurring design themes, explicitly including "still lifes".
The painting was in all likelihood created between 2000 and 2010, with a very strong focus on the period around 2004–2006.
It has always been displayed in a smoke-free environment.
