Large Murano Glass Table Lamp, Italy, circa 1985–1995
Elegant and sculptural Murano glass table lamp, Italy, late 20th century.
This large lamp features a refined ovoid (egg-shaped) form in hand-blown moulded glass, decorated with a continuous spiral ribbing (rigadin spiralato).
When lit, the glass diffuses a warm, soft light, highlighting the depth and craftsmanship of the Murano glass.
The lamp was purchased at a South Beach (Miami) art fair in the 1990s, a period when Murano workshops such as Vistosi, Seguso and AV Mazzega were widely represented on the international design-fair circuit.
