Magnificent and extremely rare, large vintage lamp from the 1930s-1950s in the style of Jean Besnard, signed by René Hénon or another Keramos ceramist (Dakon, Josef Lorenzl, Michael Powolny, Rudolf Podany, Dora Langer, Hertha Bucher, Wiener Werkstätte, etc.), Sèvres, France. Raku crackle-glazed ceramic, Modern, Japanese-inspired style, very elegant. Shaped like a large, flared, corolla-like vase with a small round base. Beige color with gray crackle glaze, a band at the top with dark brown horizontal grooves, and the base of the lamp is also in the same color. A rare or unique, handcrafted piece.
26.8 cm total height, 26 cm maximum diameter, approximately 13-14 cm diameter for the base. Very good overall condition, a small chip on the rim, possibly a minor enamel flaw, and a small, discreet stain under the rim. There are also a few minor manufacturing defects, including beige enamel stains on the dark band. Possibly rewired more recently, but functional. European plug, gold-tone plastic socket for a large screw-in bulb, cord length 1.90-2m. Sold without a bulb. Approximately 2.450g.
