A substantial teak coffee table dating from the 1960s, distinguished by its sculptural, flattened U-shaped frame. The gently splayed uprights rise from the floor and curve inward to support the tabletop, creating the visual effect of a floating surface. The base is unified by a single horizontal stretcher, enhancing both stability and visual rhythm. Executed in richly grained teak, the table combines architectural clarity with organic softness, a hallmark of Scandinavian modernism. The frame construction and proportions recall Danish design of the period, closely related in spirit to works by Niels Bach and contemporaries exploring sculptural wooden bases.
