A striking large midcentury tray by Couroc of Monterey, California, renowned for their bold graphic inlay designs. This piece features a roadrunner in motion, crafted from intricate inlays of shell, wood, metal, and colored accents in cream, brown, black, yellow, red, and blue. The iridescent details shimmer beautifully against the matte black phenolic background.
Stamped on the underside with the original Couroc label: "Hand inlaid by master craftsmen. Shells, coins, woods and metals are fused into satin black phenolic."
