An interesting large-scale table lamp by the manufacturer Longobard. This piece is a clear example of the brand's signature "Longobard" revival aesthetic, which drew inspiration from medieval and Gothic designs, a fact that is clearly visible in its complex structure. The lamp is crafted from gilded metal, which displays an original patina that has developed subtle greenish hues and darker areas, adding historical depth.
The structure is notable for its intricate level of detail. The circular base features a repoussé or hammered finish with a consistent dotted pattern. The central baluster body is decorated with openwork appliques and four metal scrolls that ascend from the base. Above this body, a decorative element evokes an ancient key or mechanism.
The shade is the protagonist: a cylinder of textured ("martillado") glass in an intense ruby red color. This glass filters the light effectively, creating a distinctly warm and ambient atmosphere. The shade is secured by an upper structure of gilded metal that resembles a crown or an open flower. It is a piece with a strong sculptural presence.
