Beautiful large salad bowl or fruit bowl, likely a tureen base, in fine ironstone, produced by the HB CM (Hippolyte Boulenger Creil Montereau) factory in Choisy-le-Roi, Elisabeth pattern, early 20th century, circa 1925-1935. Round shape resting on a small foot, decorated with a frieze of daisies and geometric transfer motifs, hand-embellished in shades of black, green, and orange. Side handles in the form of lion heads holding a ring, a classic decorative element inspired by 19th-century designs, here in a simple and elegant version.
Diameter 23.5 cm, width 30 cm including handles, height 10.5 cm. Very good overall condition with slight signs of use and patina. Note a small chip in the glaze on one handle ring and a discreet manufacturing flaw (glaze defect) on one outer rim. Light patina on the rim and interior. Approximately 1 kg.
