Accolay (Yonne, France)—the potters of Accolay—is the story of a great community adventure that began in 1944 by a group of four friends, all students of Alexandre Kostanda. A first bell kiln enabled the production of jewelry and ceramic buttons.
In 1945, Christian Dior ordered 300 of them for his "New Look" collection. It was the beginning of a success story that ended in 1983.
