Product description
Stunning big mid-19th century French Louis-Philippe mirror with a beautiful patina, 102 × 132 cm.
Heavy oak frame, loaded with hand-carved detail: sweeping acanthus leaves, pearl beading, rolled edges – proper craftsman stuff. Original water-gilding over red bole, worn back to the wood in all the right places where elbows and life have rubbed it for the last 180 years.
The glass is the real deal: thick mercury plate, black clouds, silver veining and that deep, warm, slightly hazy glow you only get from genuine age. Still gives a razor-sharp reflection.
Back still sealed with its original black paper.
