A very beautiful large antique ceramic serving dish with three compartments, remarkable for its generous floral decoration and its luminous palette blending cream, amber yellow, orange, soft green, and deep blue. The composition is particularly successful. The three compartments are delineated by tall dividers highlighted with cobalt blue, giving the dish a very elegant graphic architecture. The background, worked in broad, nuanced strokes of yellow and cream, brings a lot of light to the piece. The floral decoration possesses a truly unique character. Flowers and foliage are freely painted, while some petals, modeled in relief and integrated into the design, add depth and texture. The small cobalt blue hearts echo the central lines and give the whole piece a beautiful coherence. No mark appears on the reverse, which prevents attributing this piece to a particular manufacturer. Its entirely decorative craftsmanship, its form, and its aesthetic link it to tableware ceramic productions from the mid-20th century, around the 1950s-1960s. With its approximately 31 cm in diameter, the dish has a striking presence. Originally designed for serving, it can just as easily be repurposed today as a decorative piece, as its design stands on its own. Excellent general condition for its age. Some slight traces of use are naturally present, without notable damage and without altering the quality or brilliance of the decoration.
