A striking original Mid-Century table lamp by Carstens Tönnieshof, Germany, from the 1960s. The sculptural ceramic base features Carstens' signature, exceptionally intense glaze in turquoise/aqua, cobalt blue, and green with a flowing drip decoration. Its distinctive stepped form and large lampshade make it a highly decorative piece even when unlit. The lamp comes from a well-maintained, non-smoking home and is in very good vintage condition. It is fully functional. The cable is not original. The pull switch works, but the original cord is missing. The large original lampshade is included and perfectly complements the ceramic base in both proportion and style. A rare and highly decorative example of West German Pottery / Mid-Century Modern from the 1960s.
