This is a tall, intricately hand-carved wooden candlestick carved from solid hardwood, likely possibly teak or mahogany.
The base is square-shaped, raised on carved legs, with a curving contour and flared body. This gives it a strong architectural presence. The column tapers upward with both smooth and fluted carvings. There’s a section of stylized floral or flame-like motifs near the bottom of the column. On top, there is a disk-like candle plate with a metal spike at the centre to secure a candle.
A mid-20th-century piece, made using traditional methods. It's clearly a candlestick, and its size and design suggest it might have been used in ritual or ceremonial contexts, or as a decorative object in a formal setting. Probably made in India, Sri Lanka, or Thailand, where such wooden ceremonial objects are often made for religious or decorative purposes.
