With its deep red set against ivory faience, this large deep dish from the Moulin des Loups factory embodies all the charm of French tables from the interwar period. The Thibault Rouge pattern features a particularly graphic composition. A bouquet of stylized flowers occupies the center while a wide red border graces the rim. The design, almost stenciled, reflects this period when French factories modernized traditional floral decorations under the influence of Art Deco. The piece bears on its underside the stamp of the French factory Moulin des Loups in Orchies, as well as the mention of the Thibault Rouge pattern. Founded in the North of France, the Orchies faience factory is part of the rich industrial and decorative history that introduced elegant and colorful tableware into French homes in the early 20th century. Its generous diameter of approximately 28 cm and its genuinely deep shape make it a beautiful serving dish. It can naturally find its place on a table, but its sufficiently striking design also allows one to imagine it displayed in a vintage kitchen, on a dresser, or as part of a collection of French faience.
