Very large and extremely rare circa 1840 antique decanter (appraised), stamped and numbered by a now-defunct faïencerie, in a very soft and original gray slip. Large 2.5-liter capacity. Beautiful bearded face (mythological?) in relief under the spout. Multiple arabesque reliefs on the domed body. Scale relief on the foot. Deep gadrooned relief at the top and bottom joints. Fluted relief on the large curved handle. Wide burgundy-chocolate piping on top and bottom. Self-sufficient as a unique decorative element, can also be used as an elegant vase.
