A magnificent, oversized 1960s Danish studio ceramic centerpiece bowl designed by the celebrated Maria Philippi for Søholm Stentøj on the island of Bornholm.
This substantial stoneware piece is an exceptional example of Mid-Century Modern geometry. Finished in a deep, lustrous cobalt blue glaze that pools beautifully in the basin, the bowl features a signature band of raised, concentric oval reliefs. This tactile "Brutalist" detailing creates a beautiful play of light and shadow against the raw, unglazed stoneware base. With its rare and generous 26 cm diameter and 13.5 cm height, this is a highly sculptural centerpiece with significant visual presence.
