Designed in 1972 by Richard Sapper, the Tizio 50 desk lamp is now a design icon, part of the permanent collection of the MoMA. The Tizio features two articulated arms and an adjustable head, all balanced by a varnished aluminum counterweight. Its innovative design lies in its construction: a transformer located in the lamp's base reduces the voltage from 230V to 12V and powers a halogen light source via rods and push buttons that act as current conductors. It is also available in a micro version or with LED lighting.
