Product description
This beautiful black leather ‘Modus’ lounge chair was designed by Kristian Vedel and produced by Søren Willadsen Møbelfabrik. This beauty was made in Denmark in the 1960s. It is a compact armchair with exceptional seating comfort! The armchair has undergone thorough leather treatment and is now almost like new! The frame is made of solid, highly exclusive rosewood, and the frame is also in excellent condition.
Kristian Vedel (1923-2003) completed his apprenticeship as a furniture maker in 1942 and studied for a few semesters with Haare Klint at the “Department of Furniture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts” (1947 – 1949) in Copenhagen. Later, he taught at the Furniture Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
After a long stay abroad, he and his wife opened a design studio in Thyholm, Denmark, in 1972. Dimensions: 71 cm wide, 68 cm deep, 66 cm high, 50 cm seat depth, 37 cm seat height.
