Biography
Klaus-Maria Falk was born in Westphalia on June 27, 1963. Already in his early childhood he discovered, unconsciously rather than consciously, his love of color. The bleak and colorless environment Falk embellished with everything that was colorful and colorful. This innate sense of color ran like a thread through his life. Eventually, K.-M. Falk began his studies in 1982, which he completed in 1987 with an emphasis on design. During his study trips, it constantly drew him to countries where color was part of everyday life. Thus, he often stayed in India, Portugal, Spain, Israel, Greece, Norway, Italy and Finland. Based on the sketches that Falk collected during his numerous travels, he elaborates his color-splattered visual collages in his studio to produce ever-new results. Klaus-Maria Falks almost explosive color impressions allow the viewer to immerse himself in the countries or worlds where the artist stayed. Through the manner of representation and the spatial size of his works, one experiences the seen up close. Inspired by the colorfulness of the cultures visited, Klaus-Maria Falk understands how to keep viewers under his spell. In his work, tradition and modernism, abstraction and figuration form poles that by no means exclude each other, but rather exchange and enrich each other.
