Alicia Alanova was a Russian (or Russian-Eastern European) dancer and model who lived in Paris in the 1920s, in the circles of ballet, theater, and fashionable nightlife. Around 1919, she became the partner, muse, and life companion of Kees van Dongen, after his divorce from Augusta Preitinger. Alanova remained at his side for almost ten years, during a period when Van Dongen was at the height of his fame.
