For sale is an exceptionally high-quality and rare porcelain sculpture by the renowned animal sculptor Karl Tutter (1883–1969) from the prestigious art department of Lorenz Hutschenreuther AG Selb.
The impressive composition depicts a rutting fallow deer with imposing palmate antlers and a fleeing doe in a highly dynamic pose. Like few other artists of his time, Karl Tutter understood how to capture movement, elegance, and natural anatomy in porcelain. His works are among the most sought-after animal sculptures of 20th-century German porcelain art.
This sculpture is made of high-quality hard-paste porcelain and meticulously hand-decorated. The original base mark of the Selb art department, the modeled artist's signature K. Tutter, and the original Hutschenreuther paper label are all intact.
Condition: The porcelain figure is in exceptionally well-preserved collector's condition.
