Rare two-sided desk, model 70, designed by Kai Kristiansen for Feldballes Møbelfabrik in the 1950s, Denmark. This model is very rarely seen with these handles and extendable leaves. The desk is made of rosewood, an impressive and richly marked wood grain that emphasizes the exceptional quality of the material. The unique, beautifully shaped handles, tapered sled legs, refined wood joints, and beveled edges demonstrate the high level of attention to detail and craftsmanship of the makers.
The desk is beautifully freestanding and can be used on both sides or by two people. One side has three deep drawers and a filing drawer with hanging files. The other side has six standard, shallower drawers. In addition, this piece of furniture includes two extendable leaves, which can be pulled out on either side when extra space is needed.
In very good condition with some minor damage, see photos.
