Beautiful cabinet produced by Jules Leleu’s workshop in the early 1940s. Perfectly embodying the designer’s refined aesthetic, the piece combines restrained lines with an exceptional attention to materials and craftsmanship. The front opens through two doors decorated with a remarkable geometric cherry wood veneer marquetry, creating subtle variations of light and depth. The ebonized wood frame contrasts elegantly with the warmth of the body, while gilt-bronze feet enhance the chicness of the structure. Delicate chiseled gilt-bronze handles depicting antique warriors complete the doors, a decorative detail characteristic of Leleu’s work, contributing to the neoclassical spirit of the piece. A superb example of French cabinetmaking, in great condition, entirely restored and refinished in our workshop.
