Josef Hoffmann secessionist/wiener werkstatte basket Argentor cca 1905 - unique--The basket was originally designed by Hoffmann for the Wiener Werkstatte, of which a copy occasionally turns up - see the 2nd photo, at Carter's auction in Australia, with the Wiener Werkstatte rose mark and Hoffmann's signature - but without its glass inlay. The design was also taken over and executed by Argentor, a truly unique and collected piece. Size 21x25cm, marked 'Argentor' and A.S I.G. (IG in German means gilded - also at WMF, at Argentor the A.S. is according to some sources the mark of Alexander Sturm, who worked for Argentor as a craftsman. Sturm was also the craftsman for Hoffmann, Koloman Moser etc.). The body is worn but in perfect condition, the glass inlay is also perfect.--shipping in EU - 40€ worldwide - 75€ SHIPPING with priority express and registered post As a private seller, I will be liable for any damage to your goods that may be caused by faulty packaging.
