Product description
Aquatint etching by Johnny Friedlaender, published in the 1960s by the renowned La Hune publishing house and gallery in Paris. Hand-signed. Edition of 20 of 95. The paper is blind-stamped by La Hune in the lower left corner. Johnny Friedlaender was a prominent German/French artist of the 20th century whose works have been exhibited worldwide. He was a pioneer of aquatint etching (a technically challenging artistic process). From 1958, La Hune in Paris became not only a gallery but also a print publisher. By exhibiting them and often subsequently publishing some of their proofs, Jacqueline and Bernard Gheerbrant revealed the engraved work of young artists, such as Johnny Friedlaender. Johnny Friedlaender subsequently became famous and exhibited internationally. Dimensions including frame: 50.5 x 67 cm.
