Johnny Friedlaender was a prominent German/French artist of the 20th century whose works have been exhibited worldwide. He was a pioneer of aquatint etching (a technically challenging artistic process).
From 1958, La Hune in Paris became not only a gallery but also a print publisher. By exhibiting them and often subsequently publishing some of their proofs, Jacqueline and Bernard Gheerbrant revealed the engraved work of young artists, such as Johnny Friedlaender. Johnny Friedlaender subsequently became famous and exhibited internationally.
