The Italian Joe Colombo (1930-1971) began his artistic career as an abstract expressionist painter and sculptor before turning to product design in the early 1960s. His designs, which were strongly influenced by the Space Age, were futuristic and experimental. The leitmotif of his work was the theory of life in the future. Some of his legendary objects are on permanent display at the MOMA in New York. Colombo died unexpectedly of heart failure in 1971 at the age of 41. The Colombo floor lamp 626 is a design from 1970. Thanks to the infinitely variable adjustment options of the reflector on the metal rod, the lighting can be variably adjusted. Both direct and indirect. Dimmable. Good used condition. With scratches on the metal. Paint stains on the cable.
