Product description
Vintage armchair named Joe Chair or model P100 in 1970 created by the Italian design trio Gionatan de Pas, Donato d'Urbino, and Paolo Lomazzi for the publisher Poltronova. An iconic model of 20th-century design.
A large, comfortable armchair in the shape of a giant baseball glove, based on a light metal structure molded with polyurethane foam and mounted on invisible wheels. It uses assembly techniques with its cord in the eyelets.
First produced in 1970, has been fully restored and reupholstered by our upholstering partner. It required 9m50 of terracotta-colored bouclette fabric from the French brand Casamance, an ultra-thick 500gr/m2 quality wadding, and sixty French-made gunmetal eyelets. It really is an exceptional piece of work in terms of time and technique. It is now truly unique in the world with this new dress.
The leather P100 Joe patch has been transferred to the new fabric in exactly the same place as the original, and the cuts and seams of the original cover have been scrupulously respected.
Joe Chair is a delicious blend of design and art. Gionatan de Pas, Donato d'Urbino, and Paolo Lomazzi made a name for themselves in the 1960s with their plastic furniture, including the hugely successful Blow inflatable armchair for Zanotta. They set up their own design studio: the DDL studio.
