White porcelain 'Balance' vase, designed by Jeroen Bechtold in 1981.
This is the 'Balance' vase, designed and manufactured by the Dutch artist Jeroen Bechtold in his own studio during the 1980s. The design is characterized by a sleek, geometric base shape that is interrupted halfway by striking, sculptural creases, giving the object a dynamic and unconventional character.
The vase is made of white ceramic with a glossy glaze, which accentuates the play of light on the dented texture. The object is hand-signed and dated 'Jeroen Bechtold 1981' on the bottom and is numbered as part of an edition (190/390). The dimensions are 26 cm in height, with a width and depth of 5 cm.
