In this ballroom, ball gowns and classical music have been replaced by mold and decay. Only the three gigantic chandeliers still show off against the peeling ceiling. The wooden floorboards rebelled because of their damp existence and now form a wave pool of wood. The last waltz was clearly danced here a long time ago.
Traveling and photographing with a fascination for abandoned architecture and faded glory, Jef Peeters seeks and explores lost and forgotten places to be rediscovered. He captures the soul and forgotten stories and turns them into narrative images.
