The Jean Prouvé Direction Desk, model “Compass”, is a characterful design in which Prouvé’s distinctive structural design language is clearly evident. This Limited Edition, crafted in RAW steel and Natural Oak, combines the industrial character of the steel with the warmth of the wood.
The balance between the materials gives the desk a distinct yet calm presence. The construction is not hidden, but rather forms an essential part of the design. This makes the Direction Desk both a functional desk and a recognizable example of Prouvé’s approach to form, material, and construction.
This version was produced by Vitra and is part of a limited edition. The combination of RAW steel and Natural Oak gives the model a more understated and natural appearance than many of Prouvé’s more distinctive versions.
