Japy AM radio alarm clock from the 1970s, featuring a compact Space Age design with functional and sculptural lines typical of everyday electronic objects of the period.
The unit combines a transistor clock with floating balance mechanism and an AM radio housed in a single body. The plastic case is marked Made in Hong Kong, consistent with manufacturing practices of the era.
Due to oxidation affecting the original battery compartment and contacts, the clock has been adapted to operate via an external 3-volt power supply.
Included with the item are:

DC to DC Voltage Regulator 5V to 1–24V Step-Up Converter Module / Adjustable USB Power Supply Module, set for correct use within the specified voltage range

Important note regarding power supply and operation:
The clock must be operated strictly within the 3.0–3.6 V range.
If the voltage is increased beyond this range, the clock may malfunction, stop operating, or the hands may rotate in reverse direction. This behaviour is known and typical of certain vintage transistorized electromechanical movements when overpowered.
The clock is currently running and the alarm function activates at the time of testing. However, as this is a vintage electromechanical device, the long-term accuracy and reliability of both the clock and the alarm cannot be guaranteed. Minor variations or discrepancies are to be considered normal for an object of this age and technology.
The plastic case shows natural patina and signs of age and use, with no invasive restoration carried out.
