This is a beautiful Japanese plate from the Kutani Showa period (1929-1989). The plate is a fine example of the refined Asian style and catches the eye with its detailed hand-painted decoration.
It was likely made somewhere between 1960 and 1970.
The plate is crafted from ceramic and has a diameter of 35 cm. The decoration depicts a classic landscape with a bird, blossom branches, and flowers, executed in a rich palette of red, pink, green, and gold. The rim is decorated with an intricate pattern of flowers and swirls. On the back, the plate is marked with a red stamp and the text 'handpainted'.
In very beautiful condition (at the bottom, just below the rim, there is a tiny chip running down to the bottom/back of the plate (see photos)).
This plate is in good vintage condition and possesses an authentic character. It is a beautiful collector's item that adds a touch of Oriental elegance to any interior.
