The Torii 077 is a handcrafted Japanese wooden torii gate, ideal for spacious gardens, parks, grand entrances, and special locations with architectural merit.
Its appearance is more powerful and commanding than smaller models. The angled legs lend it a dynamic tension and a distinctive, striking silhouette. This creates a stronger sense of grounding without sacrificing lightness.
With an overall height of approximately 284 cm and a top width of approximately 336 cm, the Torii 077 has a significantly more imposing and monumental presence.
The clearance height of approximately 210 cm allows for comfortable and spacious passage. The clear width is approximately 170 cm at the top and 197 cm at the bottom, creating a subtle downward opening due to the angled posts.
This geometry generates stability while simultaneously creating an inviting atmosphere. The 16 x 16 cm post cross-section underscores the structural strength and ensures a clear, architectural presence.
The proportions are deliberately chosen so that the torii makes a striking statement even in expansive landscapes or on larger properties. It is particularly suitable for driveways, pathways, golf courses, hotel grounds, or expansive garden designs where a bold statement is desired.
The Torii 077 is entirely handcrafted in our workshop in Germany. All wooden components are made of solid, carefully selected wood and are precisely crafted, finely sanded, primed, and finished with multiple coats of lacquer.
We use larch and Douglas fir, two proven and durable woods for outdoor use, known for their robust structure and natural longevity.
Upon request, production in other wood types is also possible, such as oak, Accoya, or Bongossi, especially for applications requiring particularly heavy use or installation near water.
The construction follows classic torii principles. The torii is self-supporting; the anchoring serves solely to prevent it from tipping over.
Depending on the location, installation can be achieved using H-beams in a concrete foundation, bolted to foundation slabs, or with custom base solutions.
The standard version is finished in traditional Japanese red with black accents. Alternatively, gray, anthracite, black, or custom colors are available.
The multi-layered lacquer provides lasting protection for the wood against weathering, UV radiation, and moisture, ensuring a uniform, high-quality surface.
The Torii 077 serves not only as a passageway but also as an architectural statement. Its angled legs lend it character and individuality. It clearly marks a transition while simultaneously creating a conscious moment of reflection.
