An elegant antique Japanese Kutani porcelain cachepot mounted in bronze, dating from the Meiji period, late 19th or very early 20th century. Its beautiful baluster shape features richly hand-painted decoration in red, gold, and polychrome tones, depicting birds, flowers, and foliage within finely ornamented reserves. The elegant bronze mount includes side handles and a top band. A painted mark is present on the base.
Height 16.5 cm (pot only), 19 cm (height including handles), maximum width 30 cm (including handles), maximum diameter approximately 20-22 cm, opening 14 cm in diameter. In very good overall condition, with only slight wear and discreet loss of gilding in places, as well as some minor oxidation on the bronze mount, which has recently been cleaned. The top band has a slight play; it is recommended not to handle the piece by the handles. Note that it does not have a bronze stand. Weight: between 1 and 2 kg.
