Jan Mankes 1889-1920 / Rare Oeuvre Book from 1927 / Limited edition No. 11 of 100 / Complete Contents biography including 32 original Hell engravings including the original Woodcut of the Cowgirl. A great Dutch Master Artist who unfortunately only lived to be 31. His entire oeuvre, created between 1907 and 1918, includes about 150 paintings, mostly on small formats, about 100 drawings and over 40 sheets of prints, mostly etchings and woodcuts. Jan Mankes entered art history as "Holland's most tranquil painter." He died young of tuberculosis, something that contributed to the myth surrounding his artistry.
There are some stains on it (water), and some signs of use. Otherwise, considering its age, still in great condition! All Heliogravures and Woodcut are in very nice condition.
