This rare pair of "J." armchairs represents a definitive icon of 1980s Postmodernism. Designed by Philippe Starck in 1984 for the legendary "Lang" collection, these chairs were produced by Aleph (Driade’s prestige division) starting in 1987. A masterpiece of sculptural furniture, this model is featured in the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
Authenticity & Condition: These units are early original editions, both featuring the authentic "Aleph by Starck" signature engraved into the cast aluminum tripod rear legs. They are preserved in exceptional vintage condition, retaining their original high-grade grained black leather. The leather on both chairs remains remarkably supple with clean, tight topstitching and a beautiful natural patina. Finding a matched pair in such well-preserved, original state is increasingly rare for serious collectors.
