Product description
Facing West depicts that special moment just before sunrise. You stand with your feet in the surf, gazing out to sea as night slowly gives way to day. The sun isn't yet visible, but the sky is already beginning to glow in unexpected colors: soft orange, pink, peach, and pale yellow. These hues reflect in the water, giving the sea an almost dreamy glow.
It's a transitional moment in the day—no longer night, but not yet fully morning either. It's precisely in that brief window of time that the most extraordinary colors often emerge in the sky and water. With this painting, artist Liane Kusters wanted to capture that quiet beginning of a new day at the seaside.
