Vintage Empire style table lamp from the mid-20th century, Hollywood Regency & Neoclassical Revival at its finest, featuring an elegant cast brass base!
The lamp has a fluted black column and a unique open ring serving as a lampshade holder.
This lamp originates from Denmark; similar lamps were designed by Just Andersen (Denmark) and Einar Bäckström (Sweden), among others. There are no authenticity marks or indication of the maker on this lamp, but the shape is characteristic of Danish design.
The base and finish are brass, the column is wood, and the socket is presumably plastic with a unique on/off switch. There is no matching shade in stock; the great thing about this shade holder construction is that you can purchase a solid or glass shade that fits the holder, or you can unscrew the holder and attach a (more modern) shade of your choice—please pay close attention to the diameter. Therefore, this lamp is sold without a shade and light source. Dimensions are approx:
