Octagonal porcelain bowl in the Japanese Imari style, suitable as a fruit bowl or serving dish.
The Imari style is recognizable by the porcelain's blue and red pattern on a white background, enhanced by gold elements.
This bowl has all the hallmarks of the Imari style, and I think it was made in China because there's a gilded crown engraved on the underside of the foot. What's more, China produces Chinese Imori for a European country like England or Germany.
It is decorated with a central peacock motif and its wing is embellished with cartouches or frieze motifs representing plants or animals, standing on a shower foot that gives it a magnificent allure.
Its condition is very good, with only the gilded border at the base of the foot a little worn, otherwise free of cracks or impacts.
This little bowl can be used as a decoration or to present bombons, cookies, fruit or jam, it's a beautiful ornament that will look great on your table.
