This chair is called Vilbert and was designed by Verner Panton. It was launched in 1993 and finished in 1994. Verner designed it for IKEA, which had it in stores for a short time. Only 3,000 to 4,000 Vilbert chairs were produced. Because sales were disappointing, many of the chairs were withdrawn from stores and, according to some, even taken out of production to be destroyed. Today, these chairs have become rare specimens.
Verner Panton was one of the most influential figures in design history, legendary for pushing boundaries in form and material in the 1960s and 1970s.
These rare Vilbert chairs are all in very good condition. They are almost in new condition. 3 pieces available. Price is per piece.
