A charming wooden Pinocchio-style figure from the mid-20th century, crafted from turned and hand-painted wood. The figure impresses with its clean, minimalist design and typical, slightly exaggerated proportions, featuring a long body, slender limbs, and a distinctive nose. The red torso with its suggested button placket, green trousers, and black shoes create a beautiful contrast to the natural wood tone of the arms and legs. The pointed hat and movable arms are particularly characteristic, lending the figure a playful, almost lifelike quality. Such figures were frequently produced as decorative objects or toys in East Germany (GDR) and reflect the optimistic, colorful spirit of the 1960s and 70s.
