We bought these cabinets years ago from Van Dijk en Ko (then still in Amsterdam). After our move last winter, we haven't been able to find a new spot for the cabinet in our new home. Time for a new owner! Van Dijk en Ko buys up antique furniture (from Hungary and Eastern Europe) and restores it. Furniture with a story, in other words. We have always used the cabinet for glassware and crockery. Origin & Style: This is an authentic, characteristic Hungarian or Eastern European brocante display cabinet. Van Dijk & Ko is known for importing and professionally restoring this type of furniture. Details: The cabinet has a classic, rustic appearance with decorative ornaments at the top (pilasters), characteristic ball feet, and a charming, light (grey/off-white) patina look. Material: Fully solid wood with glass doors, ensuring sturdy and durable quality (no MDF or veneer!). Comes from a smoke-free home. The color is grey with a very light lilac undertone. The interior is white. The back is wood. See photos. Width: 100.5 cm (Widest point is the cornice at 105 cm) Depth: 45 cm (The cornice makes it 50 cm at its deepest point) Height: 177.5 cm However, we made the cabinet slightly taller ourselves using small blocks under the legs; if you remove them, the cabinet is 18 mm lower. The cabinet shows signs of use, but that is part of the charm of such a piece. These are old traces; this is how we bought the cabinet, and it has always been treated with care in our household.
