Onyx has an immediate quality. Placed on a desk, a shelf, or a side table, it captures the light and reflects it in shades of honey, ochre, and ivory. Each piece is unique in its veins, layers, and transparencies. This ashtray is hand-cut and polished from a block of honey calcite onyx, with warm shades of caramel, ochre, and ivory, featuring the characteristic horizontal veins of this stone. Circular shape, cylindrical body slightly domed at the base, hollow central bowl with four cigarette rests. Polished glossy top and side surfaces, natural unpolished bottom. Diameter approximately 12-13 cm, height approximately 4-5 cm. A massive and heavy piece. This type of hand-cut onyx ashtray is characteristic of Mexican or Moroccan artisanal production from the 1960s-1980s, intended for export and quality gifts. Today highly sought after in mineral and bohemian chic decor. Very good condition, with a few micro-chips on the edge, normal for this type of stone.
