We hereby offer a rare historical (ethnographic) artifact.
The drum with handles, whose skin-covered soundbox is shaped like a gourd. The lacing is made of leather and reed. The Tuareg are spread across the Sahara region of Libya, Mali, Algeria, and Niger; they are descended from Berber pastors who fled the Arabs in Libya in the 7th century. These drums were manufactured by their own blacksmiths and were used for feasts, ceremonies, and rituals. The drum is presumably 200-300 years old. Because these drums never changed in design and were made in the same way for a long time, a specific dating is difficult.
