A rare and original Hillebrand model 7403-121 desk lamp, designed by Heinz F.W. Stahl and produced in West Germany during the 1970s.
This distinctive lamp is an excellent example of functional German design from the second half of the twentieth century. It features a large hemispherical metal shade in a light grey-cream finish, a heavy black textured base, polished chrome details, and a thick ribbed flexible arm.
The lamp is preserved in an exceptionally fine vintage condition. Its flexible arm moves remarkably smoothly, retains excellent resistance, and holds every selected position securely. Mechanically, the arm feels almost unused.
The lamp is original, complete, and fully functional. Its large chrome push-button switch is integrated into the base and works correctly. The flexible construction allows the light to be directed precisely where required.
The underside retains the original Hillebrand manufacturer’s label, marked:

The painted shade shows only a few very light superficial signs of use consistent with its age. These are honestly documented in the detailed photographs. There are no dents, cracks, or significant structural defects, and the original surface texture remains intact.
More than a practical desk lamp, this is a highly decorative collectible object with a strong sculptural presence. It works beautifully in mid-century modern, space-age, modernist, and 1970s-inspired interiors.
