Product description
Wonderful Soft Pad Chair EA 216 by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller / Vitra. This is the model version in black leather. The side profiles, armrests, clamps and base are made of chrome-plated die-cast aluminum, chrome-plated.
The chair can be swiveled and is in good overall condition. The seat cushions, armrests and frame are in very good condition. The back has somewhat heavier signs of wear. The chair has a manufacturer's mark from Herman Miller.
The Soft Pad Chairs were designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1969 and are considered one of the most important designs of the 20th century. They are similar in construction and shape to the aluminum chairs, but are softer and more voluptuous and adapt to the body. The EA 216 Soft Pad Chair is ideal for lounges and lobbies or as a recliner in the living room.
